Maintaining your appliance

The regular habits that prevent breakdowns and extend your appliance’s life. Each tip shows how often to do it; those marked “For this model” are specific to your appliance, the rest apply to the whole family.

  • Defrost fullyYearly

Once a year, empty and defrost the appliance: a layer of frost drops efficiency and pushes up the bill.

  • Clean the door sealEvery 3 months

Run a soapy sponge through the folds of the seal: clean and supple, it keeps the cold inside.

  • Dust the condenser

Twice a year, dust the coil at the back: when clogged, it stops the appliance releasing heat and makes it overconsume.

  • Clear the condensate drain

Clear the small drain hole at the bottom of the compartment with a cotton bud whenever water pools: it is what prevents puddles in the crisper.
