Hobs: manuals, faults and maintenance

Your hob is acting up, or you just need its manual? You're in the right place. Find your model's manual, understand where the fault comes from, fix it by following a tutorial, and pick up the habits that keep it from coming back.

Our sources: data.gouv.fr (parts & repairability), EPREL database (EU product sheets), RappelConso (safety recalls).

My induction hob hums or crackles while cooking — is that normal?
Yes, in most cases. A slight noise comes from the induction itself and depends on the pan's metal; humming at high power fades when you turn it down; crackling comes from multi-layer pan bases. The fan may also keep running after switch-off while the hob is still hot.
My induction hob shows "F", "C" or "FL" — what should I do?
"C": the cooking zone has overheated; let it cool down. "FL": the room is too bright for the touch-key calibration; dim the light and recalibrate. "F": an error has occurred; switch the power off at the breaker or fuse for a few minutes, restore it and switch on again. If "F" comes back, call an approved service centre.
The hob beeps continuously and a "–" flashes
Water or an object is covering the touch keys. Wipe the control panel and remove whatever is on it: the signal stops.

Take care of your hob

Five minutes here and there, and it will pay you back. Here are the habits that really matter.

  • Wipe the glass and the pan basesAfter each use

Before each use, clear dust and grit from the glass and from the bottom of your pans: that is what scratches the ceramic glass. For light soiling, a soft damp sponge then a dry cloth are enough, once the hob is off and cool.

  • Remove spilled sugar straight away

Sugar and sugary food must be removed at once with a scraper, even if the zone is still hot. Burnt-on stains come off with the scraper held at 45–60°, without pressing straight down on the glass.

  • No abrasives, no descalers

Avoid steel pads, abrasive sponges, harsh sprays and descalers. Water marks come off with a little diluted vinegar (not on a shiny frame), dried stains with a ceramic-hob cleaner.

  • Protect the glass now and then

A dedicated ceramic-hob care product leaves a thin protective film that makes the next clean easier. The manual recommends it as periodic care.

Everything about hob manuals and repair

Most of the faults that take a hob out of service early can be fixed. You just need the right manual, the ability to read the symptom, and the compatible part: that is all here, for every listed model.

When something breaks, we point you to the most likely cause and the video that explains it, without ever diagnosing for you. And since prevention is better, a few regular maintenance habits are enough to space out the faults.

Where our data comes from: parts and repairability indices from the open data.gouv.fr dataset declared by manufacturers; product sheets from the European EPREL database; safety recalls from RappelConso. Tutorials from a closed list of vetted specialist channels.
